I have technically worked in libraries since I was 13 years old. I first worked in my school libraries as a student assistant and later returned to libraries while attending college, where I worked in Technical Services at an academic library. After graduation, I briefly worked as a children’s educator at a local art museum before finding my way back to libraries as a Children’s Librarian at a public library. Helping children discover stories and watching their excitement grow through reading remains one of my favorite professional experiences.
I later returned to academic librarianship as a Government Documents Processor and earned my MLS from Texas Woman's University. Over the past 15 years at my current academic library, I have grown into leadership-focused roles centered on student success, public services, instruction, outreach, and organizational development. I currently serve as the Public Services Librarian and increasingly approach my work through a broader, user-centered lens that examines how library services, spaces, instruction, outreach, and partnerships contribute to student and campus success.
My recent work has focused heavily on service excellence, strategic planning, staff leadership, and cross-campus engagement. I currently lead our library’s Strategic Planning Committee, helping guide conversations around assessment, innovation, organizational priorities, and alignment with institutional goals. As a manager and mentor, I am passionate about supporting staff development, fostering collaborative environments, and creating meaningful, accessible experiences for users.
I am especially interested in active learning, scaffolding in instruction, inclusive librarianship, and amplifying overlooked voices in scholarship and higher education spaces.
Outside of work, I’m a huge comic book fan, love horror movies, enjoy video games, and spend my free time with family and friends.
