About me
Clenise Platt is the CEO of Plattinum, a leadership and life development brand that helps people show up more fully engaged in their work and their lives. She is also the President and founder of the nonprofit organization, The Keep Your Chin Up Organization, Incorporated, which develops collaborative community projects and raises scholarship dollars for students. Clenise, a native of Virginia Beach, is an author, speaker and entrepreneur. She is a licensed insurance agent, and an Adjunct Professor at Tidewater Community College. She is also the host of the Plattinum Passport Podcast available on podcast platforms across the web and at www.theplattinumgroup.com.
Her love affair with libraries began as a young girl and has continued over the years with her work as a tour docent and storyteller at her local libraries, her appointment by City Council to her local library advisory board and working as a strategic talent development and training coordinator. She completed the Library of Virginia’s Library Management Academy and is a graduate of the 2024-2025 Virginia Library Leadership Academy cohort. In 2024, Clenise received the Virginia Library Association Professional Associates Forum Supporters of Professional Associates Award. She has been published in multiple publications including the Virginia Libraries Journal.
She completed Disney’s Approach to Quality Service professional training at the Disney Institute and the Association of Talent Development (ATD) Foundation of Management Excellence program at Yale School of Management. Clenise is a sought-after speaker and has spoken at multiple conferences including the Southeast Collaborative Online Conference, Virginia Library Association Conference, the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women NGO Forum and the Rotary International Convention. She belongs to several community and professional organizations and has received numerous awards and honors for her community service and professional accomplishments.
